Dance Lighting
Picture this in your mind; the music is thumping, and your guests are on the dance floor. Do you see the room lit up by bright while fluorescent lights, or do you see the room darkened, and the dance floor is a constantly moving wash of colors, patterns, shapes, and laser beams? The difference that dance lighting can make for the “feel” of your event is huge! Let Tunes 4 My Party work with you to put together a great dance lighting package for your event.
Dance Light Fixtures
Tunes 4 My Party has access to just about any dance lighting fixture you could imagine. Below are descriptions of some of the lighting available. Keep in mind that this list is not inclusive of everything available:
Scanners
Scanners work using a flat mirror mounted on a base that allows the mirror to reflect light to most any point in the room in front of the scanner. There are color filters and patterns mounted between the light source and the mirror. The result is a beam of color and/or pattern that is projected from the scanner to the floor, walls, and ceiling in the room. The pattern moves all around the room either in a controlled manner or randomly (depending on the programming). For greater effect, multiple scanners are used.
Lasers
You’re probably familiar with lasers, and their distinctive pinpoint light beams. Today’s DJ Lasers are often Red or Green (new colors are coming soon), and usually feature multiple beams. Different units output the beams in different fashions. Some output beams that draw shapes across the room, others provide a Sky effect in fog, and others produce a star-field like effect. Lasers are always a great effect to add.
Moon or Flower Lights
These lights sometimes called moon lights or flower lights usually feature a pattern of colors which either blink different colors or rotate. The fixtures come in single beam or multiple beam configurations. The fixture featured in this photos has seven beams.
Mushroom
Mushroom lights get their name from the shape of the fixture. It looks somewhat like a mushroom. These lights usually feature a pattern of multi-colored beams that move around the room. All of the colors move in sync.
Moving Head
Moving head fixtures feature a similar pattern to the scanners (above). Moving heads, however, have a greater range of motion. Moving heads will also often feature a multi-facet prism which splits the color or pattern into multiple (usually 3) beams and will rotate, causing a really cool effect.
Par Cans
Par cans are the old original lights, used often in stage lighting. These lights are simply a steady light source which can be full on, full off, or dimmed anywhere in-between. Modern Par cans use LED light sources, and many of these are equipped with Red, Green, and Blue LEDs. By mixing differing amounts of Red, Green, and Blue light, the DJ can produce just about any color in the spectrum with these lights.
Mirror Ball
Ah...the old Mirror ball. Many will recall these from their glory days in the disco era. Tunes 4 My Party can add a disco ball to your dance lighting to give those slow dances that beautiful "Moving white dots all over the room" effect.
